U.S. pop star Britney Spears has reacted to the termination of her 13 year-old conservatorship, following the ruling of a Los Angeles court.
Spears who was not in court when Judge Brenda Penny gave the ruling, delivered her reaction on Instagram.
She said it was her best day ever.
“I can’t freaking believe it !!!! Again … best day ever”, she wrote.
In a later post, she thanked her fans for their solidarity.
“Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy 🥺❤️ !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen”.
Judge Penny ended the conservatorship that has controlled Britney for 13 years.
“Effective today, the conservatorship of the person and the estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated,” she said after a 30-minute hearing in which no one opposed ending the legal arrangement.
The judge added that the current conservator would continue working to settle ongoing financial issues in the case.
The 39-year-old “Piece of Me” singer had begged the court to terminate the legal arrangement that has governed her personal life and $60 million estate since 2008.
