Queen Elizabeth was conspicuously absent Saturday night at an annual commemorative event, the Festival of Remembrance for the war dead.

However, the event at the Royal Albert Hall in London was attended by senior members of the royal family and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Prince Charles, William and Kate all paid tributes.

The Queen’s absence marked only the sixth time she has missed the special occasion, metro.co.uk reports.

But she is expected to be present at the ceremony at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.

She had missed three other events on advice from doctors.

If she makes Sunday’s event, it will be her first official appearance since filming a video for the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.

The 95-year-old monarch was ordered to rest by royal doctors just over three weeks ago, and spent a night in hospital on October 20 undergoing preliminary tests.

She returned to Windsor Castle on Tuesday after a long-planned weekend away at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
