The result of the autopsy conducted on the remains of late Eze HRH Napoleon Amadi, the paramount ruler of Chokocho Community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State who was allegedly murdered with cutlass by his 51- year- old wife, Gladys, is out.

The Spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command,SP Nnamdi Omoni who revealed this said result is in the custody the Police and would not be revealed until it is tendered as evidence when the suspect is charged to Court.

Gladys who was arrested on the 8th of October and paraded on Wednesday October 27, is a mother of two surviving daughters out of six children she had.

The couple were married for over 35 years.

She claimed that her late husband had always physically abused her.

On the day of the incident, she claimed that her husband had threatened to kill her.

Mrs Amadi told the Police that she raised alarm during the altercation with the late husband that led to the unfortunate incident, but that no one responded.

She also said she had earlier reported the alleged consistent maltreatment by her late husband to his family but no one intervened.

Gladys said, “He said he was going to kill me and my children and use us for ritual purposes. He brought out a cutlass and was dragging me on the ground. I was screaming and nobody intervened. We started dragging the cutlass when he fell on the ground. I grabbed the cutlass and cut him on the head twice. When he started bleeding, I was scared and called for help,”.

The suspect had said that after the cutlass injuries, her husband was rushed to two hospitals in Igwuruta with the help of his brothers and some Policemen on duty at the checkpoint, but he bled to death.
