Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has confirmed that the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, wants him to resign.

Rohr made this known on Thursday while reacting to rumours of his sacking.

He, however, admitted that the NFF wants him out after the Eagles struggled in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in their final Group C World Cup qualifier in Lagos.

When contacted if he had been sacked by the NFF, Rohr said, “Not yet, but that’s what they want me to do.”

Rohr was appointed in 2016 and his current deal expires in December 2022.

However, after 5 years, his major achievement was a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The German’s conservative approach and Super Eagles’ uninspiring performances against lesser teams have made him lose the support of Nigerians.
