Darrell Edward Brooks, the lone wolf who plowed his SUV through a crowd at Waukesha Christmas parade on Sunday is a wannabe rapper, with the stage name Mathboi Fly.

Brooks, 39, was detained by cops in Waukesha, Wisconsin after his red Ford Escape sped through the town, killing five people and wounding another 40.

Among the injured were 12 kids.

Waukesha Police Department identified him early today.

The suspect appears in a music video with an SUV similar to one that he used in the rampage.

In his social media profile, Brooks said he ‘turned to the streets at a very young age’ while growing up in a ‘dangerous West Side neighbourhood of Washington Park’.

He described himself as ‘the best underground artist in his city’.

One of his songs ‘X’ has the lyrics “f*** Donald Trump” and “f*** the pigs”.

He posted a video on one of his Twitter accounts ranting about a speech made by then President Barack Obama, which he called “a crock of b******”.

His videos can be seen on YouTube and the same car that plowed into the parade appears to be used in one of them.

Court documents link Brooks to the address in Milwaukee where he was arrested.

Brooks has a lengthy criminal history stretching back to the 1990s when he was convicted of battery.

At the time of the car rampage, he had two open felony cases against him – one from July 2020 and another from November this year.

According to Mail Online, Brooks was charged on 5 November with felony bail jumping, recklessly endangering safety, battery, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer on 2 November.

He posted a $1,000 cash bond on November 19, according to court records.

His motive for Sunday’s attack remains unclear.

Waukesha Police Chief Daniel Thompson said no motive has yet been established, but officers are not discounting terrorism.

Officers are also looking into the possibility that he was fleeing an earlier incident involving a knife when he reached the parade, NBC said.
