The Toyota car of abducted Joshua Adeyemi, principal of Auga Community Grammar School, abandoned by gunmen

Kidnapping resumed in Ondo state Thursday with the abduction of the principal of Auga Community Grammar school, Mr Joshua Adeyemi and his vice, Mr Ifedayo Yesufu.

They were travelling in a blue Toyota Corolla on Auga-Ise Road when they were ambushed by Fulani gunmen.

Their vehicle was abandoned on the road, while they were marched into the forest.

A teacher Mrs Oloyede Bukola was also abducted, along with two N-Power teachers.

They are Mrs Adagunodo Funmilayo and Mrs Blessing Okeke, who was released because of her pregnancy.

Okeke said their abductors made them trek for one hour in the forest before she was released.

She also said the other four victims were beaten thoroughly in her presence.

Hellen Adeyemi, wife of the principal said the kidnappers have not contacted the family for ransom.

The divisional police officer for Ikare division, SP Oladutoye Akinwande said the police have recovered the abandoned car.

He also said his men have commenced combing of the forest to apprehend the criminals and free their victims.
