Ralf Rangnick has been given his work visa to take temporary control of Manchester United.

The 63-year-old who has been working as a director since 2019, had to convince the English FA that he deserves a permit.

His spell away from the dugout meant he was not automatically eligible for a permit.

His permit comes hours before United take on Arsenal in the premier league at Old Trafford.

Rangnick is not expected to be in charge of the game and will instead watch from the dugout.

The German would handle his first game when United face Crystal Palace at the weekend and would host his first press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday game.

After the visit to Palace, United would play a home Champions League match against Swiss side Young Boys on December 8.

Rangnick’s contract will see him take charge of the first team until June and then remain at the club for at least a further two years in a consultancy role.
