Rivers herbalist Ogbonnah, 1 other remanded for beheading 9-year-old boy

A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has ordered the remand of Chijioke Ogbonnah, a herbalist and one Kenneth Sylvanus for allegedly beheading nine-year Master Destiny Peter.

Kenneth Sylvanus, Chijioke Ogbonnah and Chibuzor Amadi were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracyand murder for beheading of Peter

The third accused, Chibuzor Amadi was however absent in court and this attracted the attention of Chief Magistrate I.F Iyabo who frowned at his unexplained absence.

Subsequently, one of the accused had told the court that Amadi was granted bail by the Police.

Speaking in the same vein, the prosecutor also told the Court that from the statement of the other suspects, Amadi is a collaborator in the case and should not have been granted bail.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate I. F Iyabo, remanded the two suspects and directed the prosecutor to liaise with the State Attorney General’s office and produce the third suspect, Amadi on the next adjourned date 6th December 2021 to take his plea.

Our Correspondent reports that the Rivers State Police Command had arrested the three suspects for allegedly killing nine year old Master Destiny Peter, cutting off his head from his body and dismembering his intestines

SP Nnamdi Omoni, Rivers police spokesperson told journalists that Peter went missing of November 11 and his Aunty contacted the Police and the community youths for assistance to locate him.

He added that a serious search for the boy was launched and this led to the recovery of the missing boy’s headless body in the bush the following day.

“However, through intelligence gathering, the identities of Kenneth Sylvanus and Chibuzor Amadi were revealed. Chibuzor Amadi was immediately arrested and on interrogation, he took the Police to an uncompleted building in Azumini Isiokpo, headquarters of Ikwerre local government Council area where Kenneth Sylvanus was arrested. They were taken to the Isiokpo Area Command and later transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation”.
