Some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi led by Senator Dino Melaye, have fired a petition to the National Executive Committee, NEC of the party demanding the audit of the finances of the State chapter of the party from 2016 till date.

This followed allegations of commercialization of party activities by individuals accused of managing the party like a personal property.

It was gathered that the petitioners want the national leadership of the party, to constitute an investigative panel to review and forensically audit the party’s financial dealings.

Part of the petition reads: “It is an open secret that the State Executive of the Party has sidelined so many critical stakeholders and has been hijacked by few people led by Alfred Bello, who now run the Party as a private affair, operating the party finances recklessly & nonchalantly.”

The petitioners also demand the immediate step aside of the State Chairman, Engr. Ohuotu, for his inability to resolve many crisis rocking PDP in Kogi.

It would be recalled that the party was unable to organize its campaign in Kogi Central, during the last gubernatorial election, as stakeholders led by Ohuotu abandoned it.

This paved way for the incumbent Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello and the All Progressive Congress, APC to record massive win in the Kogi Central.
