An evangelist has penned a sharp rebuke to Christians who have a superhuman expectation from their pastors, uncaring about their well-being.
“Please men of God are human beings, we are not angels; no matter how we prove to be anointed, we cannot in any way become a celestial being that does not eat, sleep, think, feel, get angry etc”, Evangelist Adebayo Eritunmise wrote.
The evangelist who described church followers as a wicked generation, said pastors, like other beings cry too.
“There are many times we cry and there is nobody to comfort us, there are many times we are sick and no one to heal us, there are many times that we feel sorrowful and no one to help us out, there are many times we’re broke because of the excess giving of sacrifice we are making.
“There are many times we are disturbed, there are many times we are discouraged, there are many times we are tempted, there are many times we are persecuted, there are many times we are wounded, there are many times we fall and we struggle to rise back on our own”, he wrote on the popular blog, Church Gist.
Erutumise, apart from serving God, describes himself a real estate entrepreneur, an automobile dealer and general business contractor.

One of my sons got vehemently angry for not being able to pick his call for some weeks; he said I know you don’t have time for me again because you’re now connected to the people at the top. He said don’t worry I know I will get to the top one day…
After hearing his voice message, I called him and made him understand what he didn’t know.

There are many times we cry and there is nobody to comfort us, there are many times we are sick and no one to heal us, there are many times that we feel sorrowful and no one to help us out, there are many times we’re broke because of the excess giving of sacrifice we are making.
There are many times we are disturbed, there are many times we are discouraged, there are many times we are tempted, there are many times we are persecuted, there are many times we are wounded, there are many times we fall and we struggle to rise back on our own.
There are lots of trouble we also face from the people we are praying for, we carry all of their burdens and neglect our own and yet they do not see it as a big sacrifice; if all we pray for is to bless us according to the result they are getting through our prayers, no pastors will lack, but as we pray for many, a lot of them still count on us to bless them, to help them on house rent, to help them on foodstuff, to help them on tuition fees, to help them on starting a business, to help them on their family matters. Yet no one is there to know if the pastors that all this burden are placed on, have eaten or have paid children school fees or house rent…
Members don’t care if the pastor is well or not, the people we are praying for don’t care if we are energized enough to stand and preach or to even pray for them, all they care about is their breakthrough, all they care about is their way forward, all they care about is for their battle to be conquered yet pastors are dying, they don’t care if we die or not, you can’t believe many will still go the extra mile calling us even at midnight, they don’t want to know if we are tired or not, they don’t want to know whether we have just finished vigil or not, they don’t want to know if we are weak or not. All they want is for us to be available at all times.
What a wicked Generation of Christian followers we have in our time, what uncaring disciples we have in our time, yet every time they keep insulting pastors on social media, they keep using one bad egg to defile the rest of the good eggs, they keep killing us with their doings and wait for our single mistakes.
They don’t want us to prosper, Davido can raise 200 million Naira but no pastors should dare do that; they will be the ones to point the sword at us, they will claim we are lazy and jobless and we are begging online to feed our stomach, they will claim we are looking for money to live flamboyant lifestyles, they will claim we are looking for money to feed our selfish desires, they will call us all sorts of names and ask us to tell our God that called us to send money from above to us if we are truly anointed, yet they do not notice our selfless sacrifice, they do not notice our desire to raise men to prosper, they do not notice our pains and endurance to see the people we are praying for are comfortable, do not notice our desire to raise kingdom men and women.
Sir/Ma there are times we will be fasting, attending program to program and yet nobody will know, I prayed and fasted straight for 6 months till I had ethic ulcer because I am interceding for my Generation.
The scars of the deliverance sessions I conducted in my early years of ministry are still in my body till now.
How many times have you prayed and fasted for your pastor, how many times have you asked God to help your pastor, how many times have you fed your pastor, how many times have you encouraged your pastor, how many times have you checked on your pastor to know his well being, how many times, how many times, I ask again how many times? What a wicked Generation!
