Amotekun begins stop-and-search operation in Ondo

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun has announced that it would begin a massive search of vehicles passing through and within the state on Monday.

The corps said the exercise would also involve personal identification exercises as part of moves to checkmate activities of criminals in the state.

Chief Adetunji Adeleye, Commander of the Corps in Ondo State said the exercise would be done alongside other security agencies.

Adeleye said the exercise was necessary owing to intelligence reports available to the corps.

“Beginning from today, we will have men of the Amotekun Corps stationed all over the state in some strategic positions.

“There will be massive searching and checking of vehicles and this is due to intelligent reports. I enjoin the general public to cooperate with us.” he said.

“Members of the public are advised to always carry along their means of Identification, vehicle particulars and tinted glass permit if using one,” he said.
