The Lagos State Safety Commission on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, to ensure safety standards in factories.
The Lagos State Safety Commission on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, to ensure safety standards in factories.
The Director-General of the commission, Lanre Mojola, disclosed this at the signing and presentation of a book on safety in Alausa, Ikeja.
According to him, the commission had engaged in strategic partnership as part of efforts of the government to achieve a safer and healthier Lagos.
Mojola stated that the event was as a result of constructive meetings with the MAN over time to solicit their help in ensuring minimum safety compliance, and indeed, safety education for its member organisations.
He said: “We hope that this agreement is the beginning of another journey to ensure zero accidents across the state. We are running a campaign called, ‘Zero accidents for 2022’ until the end of this administration.
“It is expected that when this MoU comes into force, there will be a significant reduction in accidents, injuries, fatalities and loss of property in the manufacturing sector of the state.”
