The Ondo State Security Network Agency, code named Amotekun has said that it has impounded no fewer than 50 unregistered vehicles in the state.

The seizure came in the wake of stop-and-search exercise by the corps on Monday.

Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, commander of the corps on Ondo State said the stop-and-search exercise was to foil a plot by some criminal elements and bandits to launch devastating attacks on the state.

The commander said the stop-and-search exercise was a joint operation alongside the Nigerian Police and Nigerian Security, and Civil Defence Corps.

Adeleye however denied the allegation that his men and other security agents, on the roads were checking phones or demanding vehicle particulars.

He described the allegation as a mere cheap social media blackmail which could not stop the security operatives from protecting the citizenry during this yuletide and beyond.

“We received an intelligence report from credible quarters that bandits and criminals are trying to carry out nefarious activities in the state.
