Gov. Sule sends 15 commissioner nominees to Assembly

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has forwarded names of 15 commissioner-nominees to the House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Speaker of the assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, announced this after the Majority Leader, Alhaji Umar Tunga, read the governor’s letter during plenary on Thursday in Lafia.

He listed the nominees to include: Yakubu Kwanta (from Akwanga), Yusuf Aliyu Turaki (Awe), Hajiya Aishatu Rufai-Ibrahim (Awe), Salihu Enah-Doma, Prof. Umar Gurku (Karu), Nuhu Oshafu (Keana) and Mohammed Idris (Keffi)

Others are: Dr Abdulkareem Kana (Kokona), Mohammed Sarki (Lafia), Abimiku Bala (Lafia), Hajiya Fatu Sabo (Nasarawa), Yakubu Lawal (Nassarawa Eggon), Daniel Agyeno (Obi), Ahmed Yahaya (Toto) and Amb. Lucky Yargwa-Wamba.

Balarabe-Abdullahi directed the nominees to appear for screening and possible confirmation on Dec. 15.

He also asked them to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae (CV) to the assembly on or before Dec. 14.

In a related development, the governor has requested the approval of the assembly for the appointment of an additional special adviser.
