Manchester City cemented their spot atop the Premier League table after they managed to snatch a 1-0 win against stubborn 10-man Wolves.

The home side pressed the visitors at the Ethiad before Raul Jimenez was sent off on the stroke of half-time.

The first half saw Wanderers register only three shots on goal.

Bernardo Silva came closest to breaking the deadlock early on when he curled a left-footed effort just over, while Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo came close to scoring in the first half.

However, Wolves resisted until the 66th minute.

Joao Moutinho was penalised for a handball in the box, and Raheem Sterling converted the spot-kick. It was his 100th goal in the Premier League.

Afterward, City continued to look for a second goal all to no avail.
