Karim Benzema opened scoring on 16 minutes after a superb play by Vinicius Junior.
Junior played the ball to the feet of Benzema, who hit a tremendous first-time shot into the bottom right corner.
On 35 minutes, Antoine Griezmann fired in a promising strike from the free kick just outside the penalty area.
His nice effort flew towards the top left corner but was denied by Thibaut Courtois, who pulled off a glorious save.

Three minutes later, Vinicius Junior received a precise low pass inside the box, controlled the ball and released it towards the left post. Unfortunately for him, Jan Oblak made a great save to stop his effort.
Joao Felix on 50 minutes latched on to a precise defence-splitting pass and drilled a nice strike from a promising distance towards the middle of the goal. Thibaut Courtois had a clear sight of it and made a comfortable save.
Madrid double their lead on 57 minutes as Vinicius Junior laid the ball off to Marco Asensio, who shot from close range into the bottom left corner, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.
