The Federal High Court has announced it will be winding up the year with a series of activities from 13 December and proceed on Christmas vacation from 20 December.
The court will resume 10 January 2022.
According to a circular by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, the winding down events will commence from today 13 December and end 16 December.
Today’s event will be a special valedictory court session in honour of the former Chief Judge of the court, Justice Adamu Abdu-Kafarati.
On 14 December, a thanksgiving service and court session would be held.
The opening ceremony for the Judges’ Conference will hold on Wednesday, 15 December.
The End of the Year Get-Together and Merit award ceremony will hold on Thursday 16 December by 2:00 pm.
Pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court (civil Procedures) Rules, 2019, the Federal High Court will proceed on its Christmas vacation from Monday 20 December, 2021 till Friday, 7 January, 2022.
The Court resumes sitting on Monday, 10 January 2022.
The circular informed the litigating public to be at liberty to approach courts in Abuja, Lagos and Port -Harcourt, with vacation judges, only for matters relating to enforcement of fundamental Rights; Arrest or Release of Vessels and matters that concern dire National interest.
