A ruthless Manchester City demolished Leeds United 7-0 on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium to cement top spot in the English Premier League.

City opened scoring on eight minutes as Phil Foden picked up the ball from a rebound and from the edge of the box unleashed a shot inside the left post.

Five minutes later, Riyad Mahrez produced a beautiful lofted cross into the box, where Jack Grealish rose high to head the ball into the middle of the goal and beyond the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

On 32 minutes, Rodri displayed great vision and sent a pass to Kevin De Bruyne, who showed brilliant composure inside the box to bury the ball inside the left post to make it 3-0.

City got the fourth goal four minutes into the second half after Ilkay Gundogan played the ball to Riyad Mahrez, whose deflected shot from inside the box went past the helpless Illan Meslier.

Kevin De Bruyne got his brace on 62 minutes as he was teed up on the edge of the box by Ilkay Gundogan, and his howitzer of a shot into the roof of the net gave the keeper no chance for City’s fifth goal.

John Stone got the sixth goal for City after a rebounded ball fell to him and he fired home from close range on 74th minute.

Nathan made it 7-0 for City after he jumped highest and coolly planted a bullet header into the left side of the goal from a corner kick.
