Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has blamed Fulani herdsmen for the explosion in the number of orphans and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

Ortom said orphanage homes across Benue State and IDP camps were filled with orphans without hope for the future.

“Some became orphans because terrorist Fulani herdsmen have killed their parents.

“Three years ago, my wife and I picked up four orphans from the Mama Abayor Orphanage and we have been taking care of them since, he said.
