The Sun also reported that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have decided against making a move for Lingard in January, though the team are desperate for reinforcements.
Newcastle, second on the relegation table have won just one league game all season.
January signings are expected, but Lingard will not be one of them, The Sun reported.
Lingard has been the subject of interest from West Ham and Newcastle.
He is out-of-contract in the summer.
