NCDC records one death, Oyo leads second day of lower COVID-19 cases

COVID-19 cases went down south for the second day in Nigeria from the zenith of 1,584 reported on Friday.
The NCDC reported 404 new cases on Sunday, about 50 per cent of the 828 cases logged on Saturday.
One death was reported taking death toll to 2,985, from 2,984.
The NCDC did not offer any explanation for the recession in confirmed cases.
It also did not say why Kogi state remains untouched virtually by the virus, since February 2020.
The central Nigerian state has only reported five cases, some of them disputed, in 21 months.

On Saturday, the state with 83, 566 confirmed cases, reported 183 cases. Could this be a weekend fatigue?
“Till date, 223887 cases have been confirmed, 211537 cases have been discharged and 2985 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory”, NCDC said.
