The Commandant-General of the board of Kano Sharia police, otherwise known as Hisbah, Sheikh Harun Ibn Sina, has denied report that the board invited or was going to invite the winner of the 44th edition of Miss Nigeria Shatou Garko or her parents for questioning.

According to the commandant, the rumor that the board was going to quiz Miss Nigeria or her parent was the handiwork of mischief-makers.

Report that Hisbah was going to invite Miss Garko’s parents already caused massive outrage on social media on Wednesday.

Media report had it that the board confirmed that Shatu Garko is a Muslim from Kano state and her parents come from Garko LG, a Sharia state and it was why Hisbah will not allow the matter to die like that.

Reacting, some Nigerians said the Hisbah’s intention to invite Garko’s parents for their daughter’s actions was uncalled for.

However, Ibn Sina said no formal or informal invitation was extended by the board to the beauty queen or her parents.

He said the board only cautioned against the putting on of attires that contradicts Islamic injunctions, noting that clothing that exposes sensitive parts of feminine bodies is strictly unacceptable.
