Popular socialite and billionaire, Ismail Mustapha aka Mompha, has threatened to sue Bobrisky for allegedly publishing “libelous and defamatory materials” against him.
Mompha, in a letter signed by Clement Benjamin, his lawyer, said Bobrisky put out the said posts on December 18 and 21 respectively.
Mompha said in one of the posts, the self-acclaimed transgender accused him of borrowing his car while also alleging that Bobrisky described him as an audio billionaire who rents vehicles in Dubai just to show off.
Mompha also said Bobrisky accused him of gossiping about Nollywood’s Anita Joseph and Nkechi Blessing.
In the letter, dated December 22, the socialite described Bobrisky’s claim as “malicious and sponsored to smear his reputation.”
The statement further reads: “It is by the reckoning of our Client, a deliberate attempt sponsored and/or designed to malign his image and cast aspersion on his personality in front of his teeming social media fans and followers and most especially the general public.”
Mompha also tackled Bobrisky for failing to publicly debunk the claim by Oye Kyme, his ex-aide, that the pair dated — despite several entreaties to make him do so.
The socialite asked the crossdresser to retract the said publications and issue an apology to be published in two major national newspapers as well as online news outlets in the next seven days.
He also demanded the sum of one billion naira from Bobrisky as “damages and compensation for the malicious publications made against him.”
Mompha threatened that he would take the matter to court should the brand-influencer fails to meet the listed demands within seven days after receiving the letter.
The two social media celebrities have not been on good terms since their seeming friendship went sour.
Mompha had recently warned the crossdresser against involving him in his fight with Tonto Dikeh.
