Benue Gov, Ortom signs N155.6b 2022 budget into law

The governor assented the 2022 budget on Friday at the New Banquet Hall of Benue Peoples House Makurdi. He described the bill as realistic and in line with the CBN’s directive.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has signed the state N155.6b budget estimate for year 2022 into law.

In addition, Ortom also assented the amended Revenue Law of Benue State, which he recently presented to the State House of Assembly.

The governor assented the 2022 budget on Friday at the New Banquet Hall of Benue Peoples House Makurdi. He described the bill as realistic and in line with the CBN’s directive.

Ortom thanked the Speaker and members of the Benue State House of Assembly for the speedy consideration and passage of the budget estimate.

He acknowledged the synergy between his administration and the legislature and assured that his government would never spend outside budgetary provisions.

After signing the bill, Ortom urged Benue residents to be sober and look up to God as they celebrate the yuletide. He also said residents should observe COVID-19 protocols as they celebrate noting that the virus is still around.

Governor Ortom had on October 27th, 2021, presented a draft budget estimate of N155.6b to the State Assembly for consideration and passage.
