Yagba Fed. Constituency: PDP aspirant denies stepping down

Edward Olatunji Meseko: says his aspiration to represent Yagba Fed. Constituency of Kogi State, is on course.

A businessman and National Assembly hopeful on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Edward Olatunji Meseko has said his aspiration to represent the good people of Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, in the lower house is intact and on course.

Meseko, who was recently honoured with a chieftaincy title as Bobakeye of Oshogbo kingdom noted that rather than being seen as a distraction, his new title will enhance his focus on his political journey and assured of his determination to see his desire for elective office through and to positive conclusion.

The soft spoken native of Takete Ide in MopAmuro Local Government Area, LGA during a media chat said his decision to contest the rep seat was born out of genuine love for his people, describing rumour of his alleged step down as laughable and the handiwork of his political opponents.

“It is not true. Politics is like a battle. Have you ever seen where a strong team or side will surrender or step down for an underdog? Why and for who should I step down? I don’t go into any venture without assessing the risks.

“I’m in the race because I have the people with me, and with their support I know I can win. The people spreading the rumour are wasting their time. I advice them to face more worthy issues. I am in the race, and will remain in the race till the end.

“I did not step down or abandon the ship in 2019 when people invoked government machinery against me. I stood my ground and maintained my balance against them. I am on the field working and consulting. When the time comes, they will know stepping down is not in my agenda.

The Engineer assured his supporters and constituents of his steadfastness and desire to see the long awaited development of Yagbaland, become a reality, emphasising that only quality representation with the support of a development oriented government can bring it to pass.
