Fast-rising artist, Ademola Adefolahan, aka Fireboy has revealed that his hit track, ‘Peru’ was an impromptu song where he told the story about what he was experiencing at the time he recorded the song.
He said this during a recent interview with music streaming app, Deezer as he revealed that he wrote and recorded the song in San Francisco, California.
“It was my first time in the United States and I was supposed to go and see my associates at the empire and just vibe; pay a courtesy visit to Shizzi who produced the song in his studio, he said.
“At the studio that night, I was tipsy and I just got in the booth. He played the beat. I was like, ‘Um, that’s a vibe.’ And in 30 minutes to 35 minutes, I was literally just singing my story.
“It’s just a young boy that found himself in a new place and is willing to just try out new stuff.”
The music star also said that the remix of the song with British musician, Ed Sheeran was a very quick one. He said Ed Sheeran finished writing his lyrics of the song in 30 minutes.
“Ed Sheeran heard the song and loved it. He was so excited about the whole process; the whole vibe of making the song.
“He asked for the lyrics, what every word meant and all of that. In 30 minutes, he was done with his own verse too.”
Recently, the Peruvian Government has reacted to the remix of the hit track.
The Peruvian government in a reaction through its official Twitter handle insinuated that Fireboy may have gotten his inspiration for the smash hit track from the country’s name.
