Novak Djokovic has spoken almost 24 hours since he was detained in a Melbourne hotel, while awaiting court ruling on his visa.
The world number one broke his silence via Instastory, thanking fans for their solidarity.
‘Thank you to people around the world for your continuous support. I can feel it and it is greatly appreciated,’ he wrote.
The world No.1 has been at the Park Hotel in Carlton since Thursday after being denied entry to the country following visa complications.
He has up till Monday to know if he will be deported.
Djokovic claimed to have been granted a vaccine exemption to compete at the Australian Open, which begins on 17 January.
But when he landed via Dubai on Thursday, he was denied entry as he was told he had a wrong visa.
Government also insisted he show proof of vaccination against covid-19, a requirement for players to participate in the first Grand Slam of the year.
