Traditionalists under the aegis of Indigenous  Faith of Africa, also known as Ile Ijuba Eledumare Ose-Meji Temple, Oja-Oba, Ibadan has offered prayers for the late Olubadan Oba Saliu Adetunji.

The prayer held Saturday at the Popoyemoja Palace of the late monarch was led by Araba of Ile Ibadan and Olu Isese of Oyo State, High Chief Ifalere Odegbemi Odegbola II.

They prayed for the repose of Olubadan’s soul.

The activity was part of the ceremony to mark the exit of the king.

Former Governor of Oyo State, Rasheed Ladoja who was at the event praised the late king.

Ladoja said Oba Saliu  was a king that stood out among all the kings, Ibadan has ever had.

“This is a king that allowed all religious groups to operate unhindered in Ibadanland.  He never discriminated against any religion.

“That was why his reign was peaceful  and Ibadanland  experienced  unprecedented development.”

The Araba of Ibadan land while speaking called on leaders of Oyo Atate to emulate the late monarch and  ensure all religious groups are accommodated in the state for peace and development.
