Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna boy has decried the soot pollution in Port Harcourt and other parts of Rivers state.

The “Ye” crooner in a series of posts on his Instagram stories on Tuesday night shared photos of dark clouds caused by soot pollution in the state.

He also called on relevant authorities to address the situation using the hashtag #StopthesootinPortHarcourt.

“Dark clouds over my city. What is the way forward, #StopthesootinPort Harcourt. This is what bright sunny days look like for my people now,” he wrote.

Governor Nyesom Wike, had earlier ordered the shutdown of illegal crude oil refining sites in the state to tackle the spot menace.

He also declared 19 operators of illegal crude oil refining sites wanted for the soot pollution in the state.

The state police command had earlier announced that its operatives have arrested 18 persons involved in illegal oil refining activities.
