Ex-Oyo governor Alao-Akala is dead

Former governor of Oyo State Adebayo Alao-Akala is dead. He was 71 years old.

Though details of his death were sketchy, multiple reports said he died in his sleep early today.

Alao-Akala, a former police officer died died exactly a month after the monarch of his Ogbomoso town, died.

Alao-Akala, born 3 June 1950, was governor of Oyo state between 2006 and 2011.

Until his death, he was a member of the All Progressives Congress.
