Texas officials are negotiating with a gunman holding worshippers hostage at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas.

The synagogue is known as Congregation Beth Israel.

The gunman said to be a Muslim took the hostages after entering the synagogue during a religious service, which was being live-streamed.

The live-stream cut off shortly before 3pm, where the man can be heard saying: ‘I’m going to die.’

He reportedly demanded that a relative in prison be released, according to reports by Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Mail Online.

The Colleyville police on Twitter earlier on Saturday said it was conducting SWAT operations on the block where the synagogue is located.

“We are currently conducting SWAT operations around the 6100 block of Pleasant Run Rd.

“All residents in the immediate area are being evacuated. Please avoid the area,” the police said.
