Liverpool fans have oddly hailed Rafa Benitez at the Anfield following his sacking by rivals Everton.

Jamie Carragher who witnessed the match between the Reds and Brentford tweeted the reaction of Liverpool fans as news of Benitez sack went viral.

The former Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid boss was dismissed by the Toffees on Sunday evening just 24 hours after Norwich secured their first league win since November over them at Carrow Road.

Benitez was handpicked to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park and signed a three-year deal back in June – raising eyebrows at the club due to his close connection with rivals Liverpool.
