Aissa Laidouni, one of Tunisia’s midfielders has said they are not afraid of Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of their Round of 16 Africa Cup of Nations tie on Sunday.
He said this even after the Tunisian camp had been depleted as 11 of their players are already ruled out having tested positive to Covid-19 ahead of the match.
Laidouni while speaking at a press conference ahead of the Sunday game said that the Carthage Eagles are battle-ready and will fight from the start to the end.
Nigeria would face the North Africans, who barely scraped through the group stage after picking just three points from their three group games.
With their abysmal performance so far, Laidouniexpressed confidence that the Carthage Eagles can scale through the hurdle and secure a place in the quarter-final.
“Our journey to the knockout stage has not been easy because of COVID-19. Each time we do our test, we are under pressure,” Laidouni told the media on Saturday.
“We are not scared of any team. We will continue fighting and do that till the end.”
