Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, has debunked news that Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmad has resigned.
Prior to his clarification, some news blogs reported that she submitted a resignation later and cleared her office.
Taking to his Twitter page to debunk it, Bashir wrote: “there is a rumour going around that Honorable Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmad has resigned.
“The rumour is completely not true, one of the minister’s closest aides told me on phone,” he added.
In 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Hajia Zainab Ahmed,61, as the Federal Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning of Nigeria.
