One dead, one injured in lone car crash on Bida-Minna highway

One person died and another was injured in a lone car accident on Bida/Minna road on Wednesday, the Federal Road Safety Corps in Niger said.

Mr Musa Mohammed, the Sector Commander said the accident occurred close to the Eid-praying ground in Bida.

The vehicle involved, a Volkswagen  has no registration number. 

“Two people were involved in the mishap; one  killed, one sustained injuries and taken to Federal Medical Centre Bida for treatment”,he said.

The sector commander blamed the accident on break failure and speed violation, leading to loss of control.

He advised motorists to exercise caution and adhere strictly to speed limits to avoid crashes.

The sector commander said that the corps would continue to monitor road users to guard against dangerous driving.
