The Creative Industry Group (CIG) has appointed the veteran reggae singer, Innocent Onyebuchi, popularly known as Daddy Fresh, as the new head of its music section.
CIG’s President, Felix Duke, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
Duke noted that the veteran Ajegunle artiste would surely bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new appointment.
The artiste came into the limelight in the mid-80s as a professional musician when he and John Odafe Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, and Friday Igwe also known as Baba Fryo, among others performed in a group known as “DE Pretty Busy Boys”.
He later dropped those hit songs such as “Eleru Gberu e”, “Faka Fiki Faka” and “Fiji Fa”, which were unfortunately pirated.
Duke said that the new appointee had lots of plans in place that would help further galvanise the affairs of the group.
“He is a man with lots of experience necessary to ensure the growth of the music industry, being a veteran artiste himself.
“We wish him an outstanding tenure as we work toward making the creative industry in Nigeria grows in leaps and bounds,” he said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
