There is definitely no dull moment with Tiwa Savage, aka Queen of Afrobeats, aka Mama Jam, aka, Number One African Bad Gyal.
Still, today marks the anniversary of her 42 years on earth, years defined by hits after hits, class, glamour and not a few scandals. Yet she is undaunted, she is unnerved, she is “crazy”. As she posted recently on her Instagram page, she is “still in touch but out of reach.”
Yet ever since her ferocious sex video, leaked, she has become more famous and the visual of her hit, “Somebody’s Son”, has surpassed 16 million views on YouTube.
Indeed, Savage has been enlarging her coast, broadening her horizon, acquiring territories and has also been smiling to the bank, “flexing”, as the slang goes.
Flexing? Yes, flexing. If she is not in a yacht partying with friends, she is flaunting her designer Philippe Patek wristwatch or rocking her sexy designer dresses that leave little to the imagination. And he never fails to thrill her fans who not only fawn over her, gosh or, like Oliver Twist, ask for more.
Of course, the Isale-Eko-born, London-trained artiste has not just been “giving” them but has also been giving her numerous fans fodders for gossip. And she has continued to up her game.
Just days to her birthday, which comes up today Saturday 5 February 2022, some videos which went viral showed Savage in the company of friends decked in a crazy, black outfit in an event in Lagos, revealing her thighs and cleavages.
In one of the videos, former Lagos Commissioner for Waterfront, Adesegun Oniru was seen with Savage, admiring her with a drink in hand. This elicits not a few reactions. In another video, Savage is asking the men what they are complaining of, as she stands up to display her salacious assets.
The “Somebody’s Son” crooner stirs reactions again when she took to her Instagram story channel to share a video of herself throwing punches as she undergoes boxing training.
Boxing training? Yes, ahead of her 42nd birthday, the mother of one, who had recently signified her intention to reduce weight by asking her fans whether they want her to reduce or add, showed special boxing skills when she engaged her trainer in a boxing bout, bouncing like a professional while throwing punches at him.
However, many who have seen this video argue that Savage drew her inspiration from Davido, who has been austere since January.
Davido at the beginning of this year had revealed that he would be getting his masculine physique back by all means and had, therefore, paid the finest gym instructor to coach him on his six packs journey. And for the past few weeks, he has been feeding his fans with videos from his gym sessions.
Still, whether Savage drew her inspiration from Davido or not makes little or no difference as both artistes had collaborated with each other many times in the past. Davido had earlier featured Savage in his hit song, “Tanana”, while Savage on her part had featured Davido in her popular hit, “Park Well.”
It will also be recalled that on 24 December last year, Savage, wearing bum shorts, revealed while performing at the ‘A decade of Davido’ concert in Lagos how she shared an apartment with DMW boss, Davido, when she relocated to Nigeria.
“A lot of people know this but when I moved back to Nigeria, I was actually sharing an apartment with David in 1004. Ed don tey. I am so proud of you,” Savage said, as she shared a hug with Davido before she continued her superlative performance.
Just days to her 42nd birthday, Savage went Davido’s way again when she made a wish list of presents she desires to receive for her forthcoming birthday. The photos she shared included: a 2022 black Hilux, designer bags, shoes, gold bracelets and iPhone, writing a wish alongside each of the items.
It will also be recalled that when Davido celebrated his 29th birthday last year, he challenged his friends whom he had touched with his hits to donate the sum of N1 million Naira to him. Davido ended up getting N200 million naira to which he added N50 million and donated them to Orphanages across the country. Still, whether Savage’s fans will replicate what Davido’s did today remains to be seen.
