Daily COVID-19 cases tumbled Friday to 35 from 100 recorded 3 January,
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), said.

It said the new cases were registered in five states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Confirmed cases in Nigeria stood at 253,540 as at 4 February. Death toll remained unchanged at 3,136.

The discharged rose to 229,982, including 89 recorded Friday.

Rivers recorded 15 infections, the highest number of confirmed cases for the day, while Katsina reported eight cases.

The FCT had six cases, Gombe four, Ekiti and Kano reported one case each.

The new data did not include an update from Lagos State, the most hit by the virus.
