Lekki resident Paul lands in Prison for stealing Neighbour’s Iphone

The Police at the Maroko Division, Lekki, Lagos have arrested a resident, Samuel Paul, 34, for allegedly stealing his neighbour’s Iphone X5 valued at N294, 000 and Nokia Phone value N15, 000 belonging to Anichebe Daniel while he was sleeping.

Paul, a resident of Marwa, Lakki from Kaduna State was charged before the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos on a two-count charge of stealing and conducts likely to cause beach of peace.

Police Counsel, Reuben Solomon informed the Court that the defendant committed the offence on 23 December, 2021 at Marwa, Lekki, Lagos.

Solomon told the Court that the complainant reported that unidentified persons stole his Iphone and Nokia Phone inside his apartment while he was sleeping.

Solomon said that following the report, the Police swung into action and tracked the stolen phones to the defendant and arrested him.

Solomon said the offences, the defendant committed were punishable under sections 287 and 168 (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

Paul pleaded not guilty to the charges and magistrate O.S Abioye granted him N100, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Abioye adjourned the case till 15 February, 2022 for mention and ordered that the defendant be detained at a Correctional Facility in Lagos till he perfected the bail conditions.
