Tinubu sends message to new Olubadan

A former governor of Lagos State, Sen. Bola Tinubu, has congratulated the Otun-Olubadan of Ibadan, Sen. Lekan Balogun, on his appointment as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Tinubu in a congratulatory message by his Media Aide, Mr. Tunde Rahman, on Tuesday in Lagos, also urged the new Olubadan of Ibadan to promote peace and stability

The royal members of the Olubadan-in-Council, had endorsed Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland after Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso 1, died on Jan. 2.

He described the appointment as an elevation to the zenith of leading institutions in the land.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain expressed hope that the new Olubadan would deploy his tremendous skills and rich understanding of the traditional institution to promote peace and stability in Ibadanland, Oyo state, and Nigeria as a whole.

“The beauty of the rich and highly-respected traditional hierarchical leadership structure of Ibadanland has again affirmed itself.

“As a former senator and the Otun-Olubadan until this new appointment, you have truly earned your stripes.

“Your high leadership qualities, particularly your tremendous skills, experience, knowledge and deep understanding of traditional institutions are worthy of note.

“As the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, l hope and pray that you will deploy these qualities to promote peace, unity, and stability not only in Ibadanland, Oyo state, Yorubaland but also across the country,” he said

Tinubu, therefore, prayed for a long and eventful reign for the new Olubadan.
