The Future Awards Africa 2022: Andrea Iyamma, Mohammed Salah, others emerge honorees for ‘Young person of the year’ Award

With just a few days till the Award ceremony of the 16th edition of The Future Awards Africa, the Central Working Committee has unveiled the honorees for the Young person of the year category.

On this year’s list of honorees is 29-year-old professional Egyptian footballer and top goalscorer, Mohamed Salah; 32-year-old Zimbabwean health campaigner and founder of Spark R.E.A.D (Resilience, Empowerment, Activism, and Development), Angeline Makore; and 27-year-old Nigerian fabrication engineer, Jerry Mallo, Lifestyle and Fashion designer, Andrea Inyama (Nigeria) 28 and CEO, Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia Lelise Neme (Ethiopia) 29.

Commenting on the selection of honorees, Bukonla Adebakin, Chief Operating Officer, Senior Advisor, The Future Project, said, “Africa has consistently produced individuals who are resilient in pursuing their passion and making tremendous impact in their generation. People who have consistently proven that hard work and excellence are paramount- it behooves society to celebrate their effort worthy of emulation.”

“These individuals have broken barriers, shattered stereotypes and made impossibility nothing more than a word. It is our highest honour to celebrate them and their inspirational bodies of work.”

‘The young person of the year’ Award is a cross-industry award created to celebrate young people who achieved groundbreaking feats in the past year and modelled exemplary leadership.
