A Federal High Court in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has adjourned till 5th of May for trial of self-acclaimed investment banker, Dominic Joshua Ngene, his company Brisk Capital limited and one Divinewill Malachi Umoh alleged to have obtained over N2 billion from unsuspecting investors.
According to 14-count charge number FHC/L/223C/2021, jointly filed before the court by two Police prosecuting counsels from Police Special Fraud Unit, Milverton road Ikoyi, Lagos, E.A. Jackson and J. I. Enang, it was alleged that Ngene, 21, Divinewill Malachi Umoh, 24 and Brisk Capital Limited between October 2020 and March 2021 with intent to defraud conspired together to commit felony to with: obtaining money by false pretence and conversion of funds and thereby committed offence contrary to section 8(a) and punishable under section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other related Offences Act, 2006.
It was further alleged that Ngene, Umoh, same time and place, with intent to defraud, fraudulently obtained total sum of N2,372,855,000 from thirteen different people under the pretext of investing same in Oil and Gas and forex trading.
The accused who pleaded not guilty are currently on bail.
