Rivers State Police Command has begun a probe of the apparent suicide of a truck driver who was found hanging on a tree on Sunday morning in Port Harcourt.
The man simply identified as Justice was found dead dangling from a rope on a tree in a bush at the back of Octopus Sandfill jetty at Eagle Island.
He was said to be a member of Tipper Drivers Association of Nigeria Eagle Island branch.
Members of the Association called an emergency meeting over the incident.
The South-South Zonal Chairman of the Association, Prince Barifodum confirmed receiving the report of the death of Justice.
He declined further comment.
Justice body has been evacuated to the morgue.
His death was the second report of suicide in the oil city in weeks.
In January, a man was also found to have hanged himself in the forest along Airport/Obiri Ikwerre Road.
