The Federal Government has given the cause of the fire that occurred at the Federal Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
Thick smokes bellowed the atmosphere from the ministry on Wednesday morning causing panic.
But the Special Adviser (Media and Communications) to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi in a statement debunked claim there was fire at the ministry.
According to him, the Federal Ministry of Finance Headquarters was not on fire as reported on the social media.
He said there was an incident on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery Pack and that it was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty.
The statement reads in full: “NewsFlash: The Federal Ministry of Finance HQ is not on fire as reported on social media. Rather, there was an incident on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery Pack (photo inset). It was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty.”
