A Russian An-26 aircraft transporting military equipment has crashed in the Voronezh region, near Ukraine, leaving one person dead.
A Russian News Agency, RIA, quoted a press release from the Western Military District, as saying that the aircraft crashed while conveying military equipment.
According to the statement, “On February 24, in the Voronezh region, during a planned flight to transport military equipment, an An-26 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed. The crew died.”

The crash took place as Russian troops had crossed the Ukrainian border and were closing in on the capital Kyiv Thursday after the Kremlin ordered a massive invasion of its neighbour.
