Governor Simon Lalong has congratulated winners of the just-concluded bye-elections in the state and commended residents for their peaceful conduct of the exercise.

The message was conveyed in a statement issued on Sunday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham in Jos.

The by-election for the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency was won by Mr Musa Agah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Pankshin South state constituency by-election was won by Chief Ezra Dakup of the All Progressives Congress Party.

Lalong also appreciated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for transparently conducting the exercise, and ensuring a level playing ground for candidates in all parties to participate in the elections.

He particularly thanked the security agencies in the state for maintaining neutrality and supporting INEC in its discharge of duties.
