The Ukrainian and Russian delegations have ended their peace talk and return to their bases, with massive explosions heard near Kyiv on Monday evening.

The peace talk took place at the border of Belarus.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s adviser, Mikhaylo Podolyak, said the two sides held the first round of negotiations.

He said their main goal was to discuss ceasefire and the end of combat actions on the territory of Ukraine.

According to him, the parties have determined the topics where certain decisions were mapped out.

Podolyak added that in order for these decisions to be implemented as roadmap, the parties are returning for consultations to their capitals.

He said the parties discussed holding another round of negotiations where these decisions could develop.

Meanwhile explosions were heard near Kyiv around 6:40pm.

According to CNN, the explosions occurred in the east of the Kyiv’s city centre.

They were the largest explosions heard Monday. They were followed by sirens going off across the city.
