Wizkid tweets tour dates as Essence hits double platinum in U.S.



Essence, the collabo song by Wizkid and Tems has hit a double platinum in the United States, which means it has sold two million copies.

With One Dance earning 8x platinum and Come closer, both collabo with Drake, earning gold certification, Wizkid has extended his lead as the best-selling African-based artist in the United States.

His Essence with Tems, is the first African song to reach a double platinum, the RIIA said.

Meanwhile Wizkid has tweeted his crowded transcontinental schedule in the next six months.

While, he will not attend Davido’s O2 Arena show in London on 5 March, he will head to Dubai same date for his own show tagged Blu-fest.

The show will take place at the Burj Park. Also featuring is American rapper Tyga, whose real name is Micheal Ray Stevenson.

Weeks after he will perform at North Carolina’s Dreamville Fest between April 2nd and 3rd.

On 8 May, Wizkid is expected to perform at May Broccoli City Festival in Washington D.C.

June 4, he will be at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, along with Mary J. Blige Between June 16-20th, Wizkid will perform at Malta DLT in Malta. Tickets are going as high as £489, but early bookers can get a spot for £59.

Wizkid will be in Queens, New York in August 20-21 for the Inaugural LETSGETFR.EE Carnaval.

The lineup includes Missy Elliott, Jhené Aiko and more.

The fest, which organizers are calling “a conscious carnaval,” will take place Aug. 20 and 21 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York.

Additional performers on the lineup include Jorja Smith, Major Lazer Sound System, Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, Ozuna, Kali Uchis, Flatbush Zombies, Beenie Man, Tiwa Savage and more, with additional artists to be announced soon.

On August 27, he will hop to London to feature in the YAM Carnival . An array of Afrobeat singers will also be on parade.

On 10 September, Wizkid is the major star of the Music of Africa(MOA) Fest in Ayia Napa Square, Ayia Napa, Cyprus.
