Ugochukwu Okpala, operator of a popular retail store, Seat of Wisdom Supermarket, located around Gadumo Ganaja area in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital has been abducted.
It was gathered that she was abducted right in front of her shop on Friday evening shortly after closing for the day.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SUPOL William Aya, confirmed the incident saying that the police was informed that Okpala was accosted, while entering her car
He said Okpala was pushed into the gunmen’s car after which they drove off to an unknown destination.
According to him, the State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka has since mobilised officers in conjunction with all other sister security agencies including the local vigilantes to go after the kidnappers with a view to freeing the lady and bringing the abductors to book.
“We got the information about the kidnap and the Commissioner of Police have activated all security architecture to ensure that the lady is freed without hurt while the culprits would be apprehended and brought to justice.”
