APC secretariat taking over by security operatives

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, deepens on Monday as armed security men took over the national secretariat in Abuja and shut it down.

It was gathered that 15 patrol vehicles condoned off the access road to the secretariat on Monday morning.

The Nation reports that over 70 armed operatives barricaded all the Blantyre Street, stopping all human and vehicular movements into the Secretariat.

security operatives said they were given the order to allow only the State Chairmen into the Secretariat.

“We don’t also know what is happening but we are only obeying the order from above. You can see that even your media centre has been locked,” a security operative said

There have been reports that the Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has been sacked.

This was as the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello who was at the secretariat, parked at the space reserved only for the chairman of the party.

He was later said to have presided over a meeting of the Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The governor had tweeted that “I am currently presiding over the Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC at the National Secretariat of the Party.”

But the Buni camp are claiming that he is still the APC chairman until after the convention.
